Off-Site Radiology Workflow Changes Due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic

Medical practices were taken by surprise by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic as they rushed and reacted daily to changing patient needs, government policies, and provider protection. Diagnostic radiology, as a largely non-patient-facing specialty, is unique in that it can be practiced away from where the patient is diagnosed and treated and that this off-site reading has been part of standard radiology practice since at least the late 1990s.
